Conferences, Debates & Events
Ashteret organizes events to bring the debate of ideas to life, deconstruct preconceived notions, build bridges between cultural and spiritual universes, and offer spaces for rigorous dialogue, open to all.
In a world saturated with hollow controversies and binary discourses, we want to restore meaning to speech, to the testimony of those directly concerned, to the respectful confrontation of ideas, and to shared reflection.
Our formats are multiple, accessible, and transnational:
- Conferences and meetings featuring peace activists in the Middle East and Europe, as well as researchers, artists, diplomats, teachers, or policymakers, focusing on cross-cutting themes concerning the Middle East and knowledge of it in Europe.
- Thematic webinars, in Arabic, French, or English, open to all, to explore major contemporary issues: knowledge of Middle Eastern cultures and histories, identities, conflicts, coexistence, secularism, religious heritages, memory, etc.
- Interfaith, intercultural, or political dialogue panels, to amplify strong voices against religious extremism within a constructive, respectful, and non-proselytizing framework.
- Hybrid meetings (online and in-person), conceived as places for transmission, reflection, and collective inspiration.
Through these events, Ashteret seeks to rehabilitate the art of debate in its noblest dimension: where thought confronts thought without violence, with rigor, nuance, and humanity.
