Yet, <strong>misunderstandings, stereotypes, and biased readings <\/strong>remain omnipresent, fueling identity divisions and cultural withdrawal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"padding-right:var(--wp--preset--spacing--80);padding-left:var(--wp--preset--spacing--80)\">Ashteret intends to bridge this gap by creating a <strong>true transregional knowledge center<\/strong>, anchored in Europe but focused on the plurality of Arab and Middle Eastern societies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"padding-right:var(--wp--preset--spacing--80);padding-left:var(--wp--preset--spacing--80)\">Our objectives are multiple:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group is-layout-constrained wp-block-group-is-layout-constrained\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-group is-layout-constrained wp-block-group-is-layout-constrained\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-group is-layout-constrained wp-block-group-is-layout-constrained\">\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Explain the specificities of the Middle East<\/strong>, within an Arab world both united by common elements (Arabic language, Islamic heritages) and marked by great historical, religious, ethnic, and political diversity.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Present the regional mosaic in its complexity:<\/strong> from Lebanon to the Maghreb, from Palestine to the Gulf, integrating Jewish, Christian, Kurdish, Berber, Shia, Sunni, secular, or mystical histories.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Offer adapted pedagogical tools:<\/strong> training, conferences, publications, articles, maps, podcasts, to better understand contemporary challenges (geopolitical, religious, cultural, social).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Foster exchanges between <strong>researchers, intellectuals, artists, and institutions from the Middle East<\/strong>, the Arab world, and the diasporas, to break down silos of knowledge and initiate new dialogues.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Create<strong> open spaces for meetings and debates<\/strong>, where people can think together without reducing the complexity of subjects to identity-based or geopolitical slogans.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Raise public awareness about erroneous perceptions<\/strong>, simplistic or Islam-centric discourses, while highlighting the cultural, philosophical, and intellectual contributions of Middle Eastern societies to global thought.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>This knowledge center is neither a closed academic observatory nor an activist platform: it is<strong> a space for transmission and mutual understanding, <\/strong>where one thinks against caricatures and speaks to better
